ABSTRACT

Typically, an animation starts with a fully realized concept, a storyboard, character design and background art. If this was a client project, I would have spent a good deal of time designing assets for the client to approve before animating a single keyframe. The Frog Day Afternoon project was more about exercising my animation brain. It began with a simple doodle and a few frames later, blossomed into a simple story. In the gruelling world of client deadlines, sometimes it's a fun departure to forget the rules and improvise a little.
