ABSTRACT

Nuke provides a number of filters that distort or warp the colors of an input. Nuke provides two nodes for simple time warping: Retime and Time Warp. Both are found in the Time menu. Retime speeds up or slows down in input by discarding or repeating frames. Time Warp offers similar functionality to the Retime node with the Filter parameter operating in an identical manner. Motion estimation is a process in which motion vectors are generated to track elements within an image sequence or movie over time. Optical flow, on the other hand, is the apparent motion of elements, objects, or edges within an image sequence. When an image sequence or movie is imported into Nuke, it is read at a frame rate determined by the project settings. Nevertheless, a person can slow down or speed up the sequence or movie by changing the frame rate with Nuke nodes designed to warp time. However, warps are not limited to time.
