ABSTRACT

Animation is movement. Ironically, this means that a book on animation can present some interesting challenges. It’s tough in the staid and static form of any book to show movement. There are some great examples of people breaking down movement through series of drawings (see Preston Blair’s, Richard William’s, FrankThomas’s, and Ollie Johnston’s books); but sometimes the best way to see how to animate is to see it in action — which we obviously can’t do here.
