Actions are great for working with single images, but you can do even more with actions. Batch processing is a technique that allows you to apply Photoshop actions across many files. Batch processing automates large tasks that otherwise might take hours if done file by file. Many tasks are combined into a single task. Photoshop is an image-processing engine. Batch is the way you drive the engine by setting the batch parameters and then letting Photoshop do the work for as long as it needs. This frees you up to do other things with your time.
