AFTER WALLS ARE ERECTED AND windows and doors are in place, the next logical object to create for a bui lding is the roof. I f you rely on BIM software to create your roofs, you can l iteral ly create a roof with a few cl icks of the mouse, but whi le this can seem l ike an appeal ing feature for this type of software, creating complex roof structures with BIM software can often be more of an annoyance than a pleasure. This is because of the somewhat l imited capabi l i ty of today’s software to try to interpret what you try to direct. While the methods described in this chapter wil l not afford you the opportunity to create a roof in l i teral ly just a few seconds, they wil l al low you to create one with ease and precision.
