ABSTRACT

Vegas Pro was one of the early multitrack editors available for the PC before the advent of Vegas Pro Video was born. Vegas Pro is used for basic voiceover-only setups or as the heart of a full-blown multitrack studio setup for recording live bands, film scoring, television production work, or other professional audio requisite. The timeline/workspace will open with no audio or video control panes in Pro, and with the default tracks in Movie Studio. The Input Monitor option also appears in the same menu as the stereo/mono inputs. The ability to monitor inputs with processing is entirely dependent on processing speed and system ability. Checking the Input Monitor box enables processing to be heard through the output specified in the output/bus assignment dialog box. Vegas Pro and Vegas Movie Studio have many advanced tools for recording audio. Both offer a metronome for monitoring a click track during recording sessions.
