ABSTRACT

Many of the menu functions are duplicated on the Toolbar, right-click context menus, or buttons found on Events. Learning and using the keyboard shortcuts not only saves time; many keyboard shortcuts translate directly to other applications and overall make for a better editor. Many editing houses not only store/archive the final project but also archive masters, Web versions, and thumbnail versions with text files for faster searches. The Envelope editor function edits, inserts, and deletes envelope points but will not move Events on the timeline. The Selection Edit tool allows Events to be selected across tracks in any direction. Photos and generated media particularly benefit from this switch. Sometimes fine horizontal detail on interlaced video source being displayed on and rendered to progressive formats can benefit from this setting, although its primary purpose is to reduce crawling or flickering in nonvideo sources.
