ABSTRACT
Signal processing , or audio processing, is nothing more than the process of altering the sound of audio-such as an announcer’s voice or a CD. We’ve already seen a few forms of audio processing in the equalization capabilities of some audio consoles and the “bass roll-off” feature of some microphones (this is actually a form of processing, specifically equalization), but most signal processing is accomplished either by the use of separate audio components or software. Modern audio equipment, especially audio editing software and digital audio workstations, includes features that allow for digital signal processing (DSP) . In many of today’s audio production situations, any audio processing is accomplished in a postproduction environment.
