ABSTRACT

Value Dominant Logic (VDL) is all about value creation and destruction and sometimes about resurgence or re-emergence of value. Eisenhower was an also-ran officer at the start of the Second World War but emerged to be a creator of value and even a greater President. As the Supreme Commander of the Allies, he was self-effacing enough not to be a threat to the other generals and allowed them to create value in their own way under an overall plan. The first principle of VDL suggests value creation is necessary for sustained human flourishing. It also suggests going beyond the classic business/social ecosystem. It can be latent value or value waiting to happen, which when perceived could provide the basis for greater Value. The book in its central theme of VDL has discussed why value is important in different fields, and why it is a dominant logic. It has portrayed how value is created/destroyed in various ecosystems.
