ABSTRACT

This introduction presents an overview of the key concepts discussed in the subsequent chapters of this book. The book provides deep, compelling, and creative ways to explore geographical concepts. It explains geographical concepts using real/personal stories by geographers to which students can relate. The book also provides a high level of quality and depth in description and analysis of pertinent concepts and definitions. It presents personal trajectories and experiences which examine the concept of place at the micro level via telling autobiogeographical stories and conveying their professional and personal identities. The book focuses on several dimensions which relate to Brazil’s population. It demonstrates that mobility can be pursued and maintained in a variety of ways by geography professionals who come from diverse personal backgrounds. The book discusses Irish Mass Rocks as important historical, ritual, and counter-cultural sites that present a tangible connection to Ireland’s rich heritage for contemporary society.
