ABSTRACT

In many ways, cloud computing got its start with Software as a Service (SaaS). SaaS is available, considered broadly, in two configurations: hosted application management and software on demand. One of the primary sources of vulnerability is the lack of fully patched and updated software in the application delivery chain. Software developers take advantage of operating system functions that turn out to be unique to specific versions of the operating system. In traditional on-premises software deployment, the user organization or its software vendor is responsible for making sure that application software is compatible with new versions of the operating system. The most data privacy laws are those within the EU’s General Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR) system, which took effect in early 2018. GDPR is intended to apply the same data privacy laws across the EU and to extend those protections to all EU citizens.
