The number one issue in any employee survey in any organization is communications. It’s a universal problem. The problem is compounded by new technologies that make communications easier but more fraught with nuance and interpretation. Donald Trump is big on communications, no matter the message. Check out any employee survey in any organization and the number one issue that will come up is communications. The defense can be the comments were taken out of context or it was only a joke. The exclamation points and the all caps and the emphasis don’t make any comments more credible, but all the commotion makes them more prominent and shapes a story. The F-bomb is front and center and maybe comments about sex organs or calling people’s spouses’ names. The changes that a leader plans to make, the more important the spokesperson is to fight off attacks and make it easier to understand the rationale for any change.
