ABSTRACT

The world is littered with movies and real life where the kids were put into a spot “to learn” with disastrous results. Wheels rarely fall off buses and so it is true when seemingly important jobs go unfilled. The best people may be ones' friends or the ones who are all alike or the ones who happen to be available. The best people are the ones who have the best skills and attributes for the job at hand. Best people means also that they complement each other and build on each other’s strengths. Good leaders don’t want people around them to cower for fear of losing their jobs. It’s just another form of bullying by bombastic leaders. Life for a leader is a continuum of creating plans, executing on those plans, and special projects. Neither MBA training or instructional YouTube videos can match the experience that a military background can bring to bear on plans and project management.
