ABSTRACT
A leader who does not attract critics is probably a leader who is not taking bold enough actions. Sometimes there are a lot of critics. Critics can be a leader’s worst nightmare but can also keep a crazy leader in check and redirect actions. Obsessing over critics will make any leader impotent in doing the job. Dread is the only word that comes to mind when an independent investigator is retained for any matters related to leadership activities. Leadership almost always involves stress. It is the decision-making that is required causes the stress and anxiety. It is a brave leader who questions the intelligence community. Leaders need to bask in the support of the most ardent supporters and build armor to protect themselves from the critics. One hopes there will always be those supporters. Hurt feelings are not part of leadership, but they are part of human nature.
