ABSTRACT

The classical meaning of an apology is “A defence or explanation of one’s position in a language that the adversary can understand”. Our knowledge about change is primitive. Primitive in that it lacks a developed language, for example. There is no widely used verb meaning organisational change. The current change literature contains a wide variety of phrases such as: change taking place, creating change, implementing change, change being effected, bringing about change, and changing the organisation. In the past few decades a field of practice has grown up among behavioural scientists devoted to implementing organisational change. It is called organisation development. Across the country their are several degree courses being offered in the area of organisational change or organisation development. Stephen Spender says that ‘Americanization, the process of Americanizing, is the shadow of a future in which the world becomes America.
