ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the bone marrow, which is the source of the four dependent variable components, is approximated spatially as a one-dimensional cylinder with the radial coordinate. Partial differential equations related to the bone marrow model are derived and solved. As a word of caution, changes in the model parameters may cause the execution of the R routines to generate error messages, or even to fail. Thus, in making changes in the parameters, an incremental approach with small changes is essential. If an execution error or failure occurs, the last change in the parameters may be the cause of the problem.
