ABSTRACT
CONVERSION of pieces of some bulk material into powders is generically known as comminution. In comminution, mechanical work is applied to the in-process material in such a fashion that the pieces progressively become subdivided into ever-smaller particles. This fragmentation requires that cleavage of particles occurs progressively.
