ABSTRACT
Uveitis, although comparatively rare when compared with diabetic retinopathy,
for example, remains a significant cause of visual handicap in the working age
population (1). The reasons often relate to the difficulty in the clinic in
ascertaining sight-threatening disease, treating aggressively enough to prevent
irreversible retinal damage or chronic blood-ocular barrier breakdown and
macular edema.
