Developing a Ubiquitous reception-hall using the User-Centred design Usability Engineering Process Model

In this paper we study the validity of our Model Process, which enables the design of interactive applications centred on the user by integrating Usability Engineering with Software Engineering, applying it to a ubiquitous paradigm project with an uninitiated user. We explain a project carried out with the aim of converting the reception-hall of a company into a ubiquitous environment where the possible customers and visitors are surprised by projections of audio-visual material offered by the receptionist. We wish to emphasize that the main user of the application has gone, without the need for specific formation later on, from being a user with no knowledge at all of graphical interface systems to using a system that offers multimodal interaction.
