Development of Ergonomic Mock-Ups for Usability Testing of In-Vehicle Communicating Systems
Implemented in-vehicle communicating systems might be a great opportunity to improve road safety. Nevertheless, ergonomics investigation has to ensure that this new situation is not going to disturb the driver. In this context, the development of ergonomic mock ups is a great tool to investigate scenarios and information displays. This approach allows to test modalities of implementation in a concrete and integrated way. It is a way to investigate safety, acceptability and usability of a in-vehicle system without needs of the real database and the real prototype. This paper described the development of various versions of a mock-up displaying alert messages to be tested in real road condition.
