Warning Strategies Adaptation in a collision avoidance/vision enhancement system
In the design and development of a new support system the first step is to understand the context of use and user behaviour in this context. Therefore, the EUCLIDE project is focused on the driver, as the user interacting with the interface information. The aim is to keep the driver aware and active in the supported driving loop by mean of a trustworthy and friendly human-centred system. In figure 1 it is shown the Reference Model of Cognition (Cacciabue, 1998), including the basic cognitive processes and functions affecting human performance. The focus on human cognition is of primary importance for a support system that produce effective information to the driver for the decision making and the final action.
