A design and evaluation of the user authentication system by using characteristics of mouse movements on a soft keyboard
This study addresses the possibility of using mouse movement patterns on a soft keyboard as an authentication system. The objective of this study is to empirically evaluate the proposed authentication by comparing characteristics of parameters extracted by spatio-temporal patterns of mouse motions during password entry on the soft keyboard. The results implied that the authentication system solely by using movement patterns was not a viable methodology. By incorporating with the password entry, the current approach may be useful for adding the security of the computer system.
