ABSTRACT

This chapter focuses on what the “education” of infants and toddlers looks like. Caregiving routines, self-help skills and meeting the needs of infants and toddlers are described as the framework for all of the knowledge and understandings that an infant/toddler caregiver must have. Each caregiving routine is clearly explained in detail, and specific caregiving examples will be given for each one for both infants and toddlers. Consistency of care is emphasized, and strategies for preparing the children for change will be introduced.
