ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on the caregiver/family relationship. It describes the expectations of both groups of people, communications between them and ways to foster a strong home-school connection. The value and necessity of a strong partnership between caregivers and families is emphasized in order to effectively communicate about and care for the children. Ways for each party to offer each other support and insight, use strong listening skills and respect each other’s different perspectives about childrearing and childcare is described.
