ABSTRACT

This chapter investigates the periodic traits of the Autonomous and Nonautonomous First-Order Linear Recursive Relations. In some instances one encounters the existence of unique periodic cycles. The chapter examines the autonomous and nonautonomous linear recursive sequences that exhibit periodic behavior with different periodic cycles. It discusses a positive period-2 cycle, an alternating period-4 cycle, a step-shaped period-3 cycle, a period-3 cycle with one positive term and two negative terms, an alternating period-6 cycle, a period-4 cycle with two positive and two negative terms, an alternating period-8 cycle, a decreasing step-shaped period-4 cycle, and an increasing period-2 cycle with two positive terms.
