ABSTRACT

There are numerous pleasures for the reader who persists in an exploration of the world of books, which is an unmapped world, an uncharted sea of wonders and delight. There are few of us who do not envy the excitement of the young reader, who still has the world of books to explore. But exciting as the vista is for the young reader, an even more exciting opportunity exists for the reader who has spent a lifetime in following the highways and byways of the book world. There is always, even for the most jaded reader, that miraculous experience of discovery which occurs when he finds a fine new book or one which he has somehow left unread. It is in this joy of surprise that perhaps the most satisfying of all reading experiences may be found.
