ABSTRACT
It is always an adventure for a librarian to be called upon to look into the possibility of purchasing a collection of books from an individual who has built a collection round some personal or professional interest. And at times the adventure assumes astonishing proportions. One such occasion came my way on a cold, blustery March day.
