ABSTRACT
This chapter begins with recognizing one of the early business pioneers, Tim Blank, and his founding of Tower Gardens and Future Growing. Of course, his story is related to the decision by Disneyworld to invest in soilless growing technology since he started his career at Disneyworld. Several examples of the impact of the Tower Garden are given initially from people all over the US. Then a summary of the aeroponic companies that are manufacturers of growing systems or are aeroponic growers is presented. Some of the key growers are Aerofarms, Plenty, Agricool, and Amplified Ag. Some of the key system manufacturers are Aero Development Corp., Aessense Grows, Agrihouse, Amplified Ag, and Helioponics. It is pointed out that these are all relatively new companies and the future of aeroponics is dependent on their economic success and ability to improve, optimize, and demonstrate that their technology is the future of growing.
