ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing remarks on the preceding chapters of the book. The book has provided an overview of the state-of-the-art of aeroponic technology from multiple vantage points. It has provided the context which has enhanced the reason why aeroponics has emerged as a new agricultural technology. It seems that an aeroponic system is uniquely positioned to be able to explore questions about plant physiology and the chemistry of root uptake and light absorption. It can be studied as a completely closed system, where all the inputs can be controlled in a much more comprehensive way than was possible in the area of soil-based agricultural studies. As the need for a better understanding of the science of aeroponics increases and more and more growers are seen around the country and the world, more students may be inclined to consider a career in agriculture and concomitant fields.
