ABSTRACT

By the time we become adults, most of us have decided on a lifestyle to pursue. When pain strikes, we may be at any of the many stages of our chosen life pursuits. Suddenly, if the pain is severe enough, we may have to give up our job, caring for our children or parents, mowing the lawn, training horses, gardening, and myriad other activities we used to take for granted. If our pain problem is only of a minor nature, such as persistent bursitis of the shoulder, we may only have to give up our weekly racquetball game and nothing else for the rest of our lives.
