ABSTRACT

The biological control of fungal diseases of plants is one of the great challenges left for the discipline of plant pathology. Not only will understanding the biology be a worthy challenge, but altering the paradigm of current disease management strategies which rely heavily on chemical control will take time and patience for products to be marketed and delivered to an expectant but somewhat skeptical clientele. For biological control advocates to succeed in breaking down the barriers, a thorough understanding of the biological systems must be attained.
