ABSTRACT

This chapter shows how components are described for entry into PSpice. It discusses the simple voltage and current sources contained in PSpice, as well as the preliminary analyses possible. In order to carry out simulation, the circuit must first be described to PSpice. Prior to circuit description, it is good practice to perform the following steps: create a schematic diagram of the circuit; give each component in the circuit a name; identify and number all the nodes in the circuit; and assign each component its value or size. Test signals and power supplies can be specified in PSpice, and this allows a complete simulation of the operation of the circuit. To define an input signal to the circuit, an independent voltage and/or current source is required. AC Independent source is used when the response of a circuit over a range of frequencies is required. This is the same as using the sweep frequency signal generator. In
