ABSTRACT

A report card on the Nation’s Infrastructure (1) presented to the President and congress rated the current state of the Nation’s Public Works at 2.25 on a scale of one to four. The Nation’s Infrastructure consists of industrial and public works that support our everyday activities and includes, coastal and marine structures, bridge decks, parking garages, highway embankments, waste treatment plants and other constructed facilities. Since the report (1) was published, little has been done to further enhance the status of U.S. Infrastructure today. For example, the Civil inventory of one million miles of substandard roads, 75,932 deficient bridges, 8,794 high hazard dams, and 10,131 deficient waterwork treatment plants.
