ABSTRACT
Animals have been used successfully to study many types of cardiovascular disorders. Models of atherosclerosis have been produced in several animal species with variable utility. Experimental canine arteriosclerosis models are appealing for the investigation of several problems of interest in the management of arteriosclerosis in man, particularly since the vessels are of comparable size.
