ABSTRACT

This article discusses the role of automation in journals claiming and explores ways of monitoring the effectiveness of claiming in the automated environment. Discussion covers the differences between using automated claims and system-generated claim reports and the possible implications of each for managing the claims work flow. Lastly, the article examines the experiences of serials managers who responded to a survey regarding claiming practices and results with the use of automated claims and claim reports.
