ABSTRACT

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) of autoimmune diseases has been performed as phase I/II studies in Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia. Phase III studies for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), multiple sclerosis (MS) and systemic sclerosis (SSc) are being designed and implemented. This chapter will review and discuss the rationale and use of mobilization and conditioning regimens for both autologous and allogeneic HSCT.
