ABSTRACT

The effect of vapour deposited TiNbN and/or of electrodeposited calcium phosphate coatings on the anodic dissolution of polished and roughened X5CrNil8.10 stainless steel specimens in 0.9% NaCl solution was investigated. Both coatings provide an increase in the pitting corrosion resistance. The results were compared with those of similarly prepared and coated TiA16V4 specimens.
