ABSTRACT

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is an integrated system consisting of several modules, where data flow and information are integrated into each module. One of the objectives of the ERP system is the automation and integration of corporate business processes. However, in practice, not all companies wishing to implement ERP systems succeed in their implementation process, and many companies fail in this effort, as disclosed by Standish Group, which found that only 10% of companies are successfully implementing ERP. Given this paradoxical situation, why there are still many companies, in particular those in the textile industry, implementing ERP? Consequently, the purpose of the qualitative research described in this article, based on data collection using interviews and observations, was to analyze and determine critical success factors of ERP implementation in the textile industry, formulate why companies in the textile industry want to implement ERP, and identify the essence of ERP implementation in companies in the textile industry.
