ABSTRACT

This chapter lays out the basic expectations of appropriate conduct by Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in their day-to-day interactions with their clients, colleagues, supervisors, and other professionals. It allows readers to know the basic principles of behavior analysis and to defend, and promotes those principles as they interact with all of these individuals throughout the day (Code 1.01). The job of the RBT is much different than waiting tables or flipping burgers. As a professional, readers are expected to carefully consider any commitments they make and to make sure that they are able to follow through on each of them to the best of the readers ability. This includes signing contracts for employment that are legally binding. “The values of behavior analysis include a commitment to the study of socially significant, individual human behavior and to a methodology for changing that behavior to the betterment of the individual and society”.
