ABSTRACT

This chapter provides a singing exercise to be practiced with diatonic 3rds in Major Keys. In the exercise, minor thirds do not necessarily invoke minor key feeling (or vice versa in minor keys). The chapter also includes an exercise to note the changing effect of the minor 3rd from the major to minor triads. The exercises require the students to determine the key and sing its scale, as well as to carefully sing the major/minor thirds in these exercises.
