ABSTRACT

Everett, Washington is a small Puget Sound community of 56,800 located 35 miles north of Seattle. Everett’s public library was founded in 1894 and consists of a main facility, a bookmobile, and a small branch. The vital statistics—as of January, 1985—were: 26 FTE staff; 102,300 titles; 142,000 volumes; plus 80,000 U.S. documents, since the library is a partial depository. The 1985 budget totaled $1,046,512 with books at $208,750 and the 1984 circulation at 600,375. EPL is governed by a five member Board of Trustees.
