ABSTRACT

The use of New Educational Technologies (NET) in education not only improves classroom teaching and the learning process, but also provides the facility of e-learning. The management of Jawaharlal Nehru University opined that use of NET substantially varies from one course to another. The faculty is motivated to use NET by sending them to other universities through sabbatical leave or faculty exchange programmes. Jamia Millia Islamia is the only institution that reported that present NET infrastructure may not be sustainable as there is no provision of regular funding of such activities. The Northcap University stated that usage of NET was limited in traditional undergraduate courses, while in engineering courses it was used extensively, followed by other courses such as management, law and research programmes. Like many institutions, the decision to use NET for teaching rests with the concerned teacher, though initiatives of management are considered most important.
