ABSTRACT
The transition to electronic resources in academic libraries is gaining momentum in the opening years of the 21st century. Collection development librarians are acquiring digital materials for their institutions in record numbers, and the convenience that digital resources offer is helping to tip the scales in favor of access in the “ownership versus access” debate in academic librarianship.
