ABSTRACT
Building a collection that meets the needs of its users is a very important responsibility. A collection which is inadequate for a given library can prove to be a serious drawback. Building a suitable collection requires planning, careful use of budgets and wise selections on the part of those making choices. There are many obstacles to the process of achieving an appropriate sci-tech collection, not the least of which is the high cost of scientific and technical literature.
