ABSTRACT

Chapter 9 is an attempt to describe a curriculum for the 21st century. In other words, it is a response to the issues raised in Chapters 3 and 4. It is, of course, simply a suggestion, but it is put forward as a starting point for a wider debate. It follows a fairly traditional structure but suggests ways in which existing subjects can be modified and adapted to ensure that children are well prepared for life in the modern world. It also suggests several new subjects which young people need to study in order to cope with the pace of change.
