ABSTRACT

Pedro Ramirez, a nine-year-old English language learner, was diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder. His physical education teacher, Mr. Gonzalez, noticed that Pedro was experiencing some difficulties in activities related to crossing the midline of the body, such as striking and throwing. Mr. Gonzalez administered the Test of Gross Motor Development-3 (TGMD-3) using both Spanish and English instructions. He determined that Pedro’s locomotor skills and ball skills were below his nine-year-old chronological age. Mr. Gonzalez recommends various activities to help Pedro improve his fundamental motor skills.
