ABSTRACT

Teams are a factor of life. Today’s engineer will be involved with if not leading teams from the first day on the job. This chapter is a guide to help the new engineer lead and participate on teams. In college teams were made up of class mates all working with the same expectations and needs, to pass a class. On the job each team member will potentially have vastly different backgrounds, experience and drivers. This chapter will help the individual define team goals, rules and navigate issues that will come up during the life of the team. The chapter gives practical guidance on how to thrive in a team environment.
