If the problem still continues, it is worth considering the rabbit’s environment to see if the rabbit could be feeling threatened by the manner in which the owner approaches. Sometimes, rabbits have a fright from something that owners unwittingly do, and then lose all confidence in their interactions. The owner should be encouraged to combine the hand feeding of some of the rabbit’s favourite treats with some handling (78).
