This book discusses the Islamist Movements in Malaysia in order to explore questions about the global impact of the Arab Uprisings phenomenon beyond the region of the Middle East and North Africa. In particular, it will examine the connection between the 2011 Arab Uprisings and the Islamist movements in Malaysia through the Malaysian Islamists’ perceptions, and consider how the phenomenon impacts and influences the movements’ ideology and activism. The book will look back at the post-Arab Uprisings 2011 to determine how these events played a decisive role in influencing the Islamist movements in Malaysia and contribute useful insights into the Malaysian Islamists experience.
