ABSTRACT
Comparison between Eastern and Western cultures is one of the hot topics in world culture in the 20th century, about which there are many works and treatises both in the East and the West, which cannot be treated in detail here. This chapter will take traditional Chinese thought about minben and traditional Western thought about democracy as examples to work out the valuable traditions in political culture in China and the West respectively. This could serve as an intellectual reference point for the current political movement calling for democratization.
